The Supreme Court issued a directive to social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, instructing him to halt the airing of his YouTube show after controversial comments drew legal complaints. The show, titled 'India's Got Latent,' is hosted by comic Samay Raina and has sparked multiple FIRs.
A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh stipulated that Allahbadia, along with his associates, must cease broadcasting until further notice. While the court granted interim protection from arrest, it mandated the influencer to fully cooperate with ongoing investigations in Thane and Guwahati.
Allahbadia, represented by senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, is facing multiple FIRs, with a fresh one filed in Jaipur. The court ordered the stay of further arrests related to these FIRs and barred the registration of new ones based on the same allegations. Responses were sought from relevant state governments, and the next hearing is set for March 3.
