The event, hosted at SKICC, attracted 15 international and 30 national buyers, marking the beginning of a series of similar initiatives.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah kicked off a significant buyer-seller meet in Srinagar on Monday, aimed at empowering local artisans and boosting the region's economy. The event took place at SKICC and welcomed 15 international and 30 national buyers eager to explore local products.

In a statement on his official X handle, Abdullah emphasized the initiative's goal to forge direct market linkages, crucial for promoting indigenous crafts. However, he noted that the effectiveness of such initiatives could only be evaluated at the year's end.

Highlighting the non-touristic nature of the meet, Abdullah explained that these events are geared towards bulk orders, signifying that even a single substantial order for an artisan would mark its success. This meet is part of a planned total of six buyer-seller and six reverse buyer-seller sessions.
