In a rare and touching revelation, Parikshit Sahni, son of the legendary Balraj Sahni, unveiled the secret behind his father's revered acting prowess that transformed Indian cinema. Born on May 1, 1913, Balraj Sahni became a cinematic icon through his deeply authentic performances in films like 'Do Bigha Zameen' and 'Garm Hava.' Parikshit disclosed that Balraj's naturalistic style stemmed from a personal method where he translated and rehearsed Hindi film dialogues into Punjabi using Gurmukhi script, later delivering them in Hindi with remarkable authenticity.

Parikshit spoke to ANI, shedding light on how this unique approach helped Balraj Sahni stand out in an era often criticized for its stilted dialogues. He also shared the core acting advice that his father imparted: 'Don't act. But believe.' This philosophy of embodying, rather than merely acting, cemented Balraj Sahni's reputation as a 'natural actor,' leaving audiences captivated by his believable on-screen presence.

Continuing his father's cinematic legacy, Parikshit Sahni ventured into diverse acting roles, working with prominent directors like Rajkumar Hirani in acclaimed films such as 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai,' '3 Idiots,' and 'PK.' Despite Balraj Sahni's passing on April 13, 1973, his influence persists, inspiring both his son and the broader cinematic landscape.
