Sikkim is gearing up for an exhilarating event—a supercar rally featuring 17 of the world's most sought-after high-performance vehicles. From Lamborghinis to Porsches, these cars will maneuver through the state's rugged mountain terrain, attracting high-octane enthusiasts from across the globe.
The event is part of the 'Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan' initiative overseen by the Ministry of Defence, aimed at boosting battlefield and border tourism. Scheduled to start on December 12 from Sukna in West Bengal, the rally takes a scenic route through Siliguri, Gangtok, Cho La, Nathu La, Gnathang, and Zuluk, wrapping up on December 15 in Sikkim. The participants will experience firsthand the beauty of Sikkim's high-altitude landscapes, enriched by historical significance.
The rally, organized by the Super Car Route Group and supported by the Indian Army's Trishakti Corps and the Sikkim government, is designed as a self-funded, self-driven expedition, positioning Sikkim as one of India's premier destinations for driving and battlefield exploration. To accommodate this, highway NH-10 will be partially closed on December 12 and 15, impacting heavy vehicle movement between Sevoke and Rangpo.
