  • India

The capital is set to resonate with the sounds of the Lakshmi Narayana Global Music Festival as veteran musicians L Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurthy perform on Friday. This festival, in its 35th year, pays homage to Subramaniam's father, a pivotal figure in introducing Indian violin to international stages.

Ahead of the event, Subramaniam shared sentiments of pride in Indian heritage, countering outdated stereotypes with the country's current global standing. The couple emphasized their dedication to Indian musical traditions, with Krishnamurthy recalling her Bollywood contributions alongside her husband's classical endeavors.

This year's tour introduces the 'Navagraha Symphony,' inspired by astrological concepts, performed by their family. Additionally, a tribute to 'Vande Mataram' marks its 150th year, featuring international collaborations with the Garku dancers from Kazakhstan. Such events illustrate India's growing prestige in the live music scene.
