The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against four Maoists involved in an armed encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh. The incident led to the seizure of several weapons, including BGL and BGL shells.
The accused, Aaytu Ram Nuruti, Manoj Kumar Hichami, Suresh Nuruti, and Budhuram Padda, have been charged under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The chargesheet was submitted before the NIA Special Court in Jagdalpur.
According to the NIA, these individuals are members of the banned CPI (Maoist) terrorist organization and were involved in a January attack on a search team in Kanker's PS Chhote Bethiya area. The NIA took over the investigation in February 2024 and found that the accused had actively participated in the conspiracy to target security forces. The probe is part of a broader effort to dismantle the CPI (Maoist) network and maintain national peace and harmony. (ANI)
