Navi Mumbai Building Collapse: Rescue Operations Underway
A three-storey building in Navi Mumbai's Shahbaz village collapsed, trapping several people. Two have been rescued, while others remain trapped. Continuous rain in Maharashtra worsens the situation, disrupting transport and causing waterlogging.

Several individuals remain unaccounted for following the collapse of a three-storey building in Shahbaz village, Navi Mumbai, on Saturday morning. Deputy Fire Officer Purushottam Jadhav confirmed that two people have been rescued, while two more are believed to be trapped.
'We received a call about a building collapse at 4:50 am. Two people have been rescued. Two individuals are likely trapped, and the rescue operation is ongoing,' Jadhav informed ANI. Kailas Shinde, Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, corroborated that rescue efforts are continuing.
'The building collapsed around 5 am. It is a G+3 structure. The NDRF team is on-site, and rescue operations are in progress,' Shinde stated. Further updates are awaited.
In a similar incident on July 20, part of a balcony at Rubina Manzil in Mumbai's Grant Road area collapsed, resulting in one death and 13 injuries. This incident occurred amid continuous heavy rainfall in Maharashtra, which has disrupted public transport and caused widespread waterlogging. The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for Madhya Maharashtra on July 28.
