The Jaipur Meteorological Centre's director, Radheshyam Sharma, announced on Friday that the monsoon will remain active across Rajasthan for the next five to seven days. He highlighted the formation of a new low-pressure system over Jharkhand, expected to affect various regions in the coming days.

During an interview with ANI, Sharma stated, "A new low-pressure system has formed over Jharkhand and will intensify within 24 hours. It will gradually pass through Eastern India, crossing Madhya Pradesh, and is expected to reach Eastern Rajasthan by August 3-4, triggering a new spell of rain." He added, "The maximum impact will be felt in South-East Rajasthan, notably in Kota and Udaipur divisions, by August 3."

Sharma further explained that regions including Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur could experience extremely heavy rainfall, with over 200 mm expected in Eastern Rajasthan on August 4. He also mentioned that Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions will continue to see monsoonal activity until August 6, with varying intensities of rainfall. An Orange alert has been issued for the districts of Bikaner, Churu, and parts of the Jodhpur division including Pali, Jalore, Jaisalmer, and Barmer.

Over the past 48 hours, several areas in Eastern and Western Rajasthan have experienced active monsoon conditions. Significant rainfall was recorded in Bikaner and Jodhpur, with Western Rajasthan's Khajuwala reporting 195 mm and Eastern Rajasthan's Savai-Madhopur reporting 141 mm of rain.
