Impostors Posing as Crime Branch Officers Steal Rs 5 Lakh from Mumbai Lawyer
Two men impersonating crime branch officers robbed a Mumbai lawyer of Rs 5 lakh. The Khar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the theft.

Two unidentified individuals posing as crime branch officers absconded with Rs 5 lakh from a lawyer in Mumbai, police reported. The Khar police have registered a case against the perpetrators who, under the guise of conducting an investigation, duped the lawyer.
The victim, 37-year-old lawyer Tausif Sheikh from Bandra, stated that his relatives involved in a tourism business deals with transactions like booking air and railway tickets and money transfers. The collected funds are deposited into the company's account. According to Sheikh, his brother handed him Rs 5.70 lakh to deposit into two customer accounts, intending to make the deposits the following morning. After depositing Rs 70,000 into one account via an ATM, Sheikh was approached by two men who claimed to be crime branch officials, demanding that he accompany them for questioning.
The impostors forced Sheikh into a car, inspected his bag filled with cash, and interrogated him about the money. They drove him a short distance before abandoning him. Distressed, Sheikh informed his brother about the robbery, who then reported the crime to the police. The Khar police have since launched an investigation into the incident.
