Prashant Kishore, the chief of Jan Suraaj, issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Bihar government, urging them to resolve the ongoing student protests concerning the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024.
Kishore condemned the police's lathi charge against students, vowing to pursue legal action against those accountable. He expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of immediate decisions from the Bihar Chief Secretary after a recent meeting, speculating that further approval from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar might be necessary.
The student protests, centered in Patna, seek the cancellation of the BPSC-conducted examination, citing irregularities. In response to Sunday's demonstrations, Bihar police used water cannons and force to disperse crowds, leading to an FIR against Kishore and hundreds more. As tensions rise, Kishore calls for swift government intervention.
