BJP's Negi Calls Out AAP over Delhi Liquor Policy 'Scam'

BJP MLA Ravindra Singh Negi accused AAP of corruption in Delhi's liquor policy, citing a CAG report on a Rs 2,000 crore scam. The Congress demands further investigation, implicating both AAP and BJP in collusion, stressing the need for accountability and transparency in handling the situation.

In a fiery session on Thursday, BJP MLA Ravindra Singh Negi criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over allegations of irregularities in Delhi's liquor policy, based on a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). Negi highlighted the report's findings on a purported Rs 2,000 crore scam, demanding a thorough discussion in the Delhi Assembly.

Negi condemned the suspension of opposition MLAs, accusing AAP of straying from constitutional principles. "Despite brandishing images of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, you fail to adhere to his constitutional teachings," Negi charged, reminding AAP of its current out-of-power status.

Reacting to revelations in the CAG report, the Congress called for an expanded investigation into the liquor scam at a press conference with Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav and leader Sandeep Dikshit. They urged for a swift formation of a Public Accounts Committee to scrutinize the report, alleging collusion between AAP and BJP during the policy's approval by the then Lieutenant Governor.

The Congress leadership also insisted on probing the roles of certain BJP members allegedly involved during the policy's execution. They raised issues concerning municipal approvals for liquor vends in non-conforming wards, highlighting BJP's municipal influence at the time, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive inquiry.
