In a significant push towards child welfare, Anganwadi centres in Delhi are set to provide free creche services with upgraded facilities, a government official announced on Monday.
Currently, there are 140 operational Anganwadi centres in the city. Sixty more centres are expected to be launched by next month, with full-fledged operational creche services ready within the next three months, the official confirmed to PTI.
The creches will feature cradles, nutritious meals, toys, and educational plans for children aged six months and above. A specially prepared diet chart rich in essential nutrients will ensure their healthy growth. The initiative will expand existing services like pregnant women's support and children's education, promising comprehensive care and learning opportunities across all social backgrounds.
