Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized her administration's unwavering commitment to rejuvenate the Yamuna River, assuring citizens that efforts will persist unabated. Gupta promised that soon, residents could experience the mesmerizing Yamuna Aarti, reminiscent of the Ganga Aarti in Banaras.
Highlighting the persistence of cleaning initiatives, Gupta stated, "The task of cleaning the Yamuna is not going to stop. Our dedicated team will continue their daily efforts. In due course, Delhi's residents will witness the majestic Yamuna Aarti like the celebrated Ganga Aarti." This endeavor, Gupta added, has been a top agenda for the ruling BJP government since their ascension.
A meeting last week between Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena delved into Yamuna's status and broader environmental issues. Sirsa described the talks as positive, underscoring the government's determination in tackling these challenges. Earlier, Minister Parvesh Verma reviewed the Yamuna cleaning campaign, observing significant progress due to BJP's strategic double-engine governance, which saw 1,300 metric tons of waste removed, signaling accelerated efforts post their electoral success.
