Eco-Friendly Floral Rakhis: NBRI's Green Initiative for Raksha Bandhan

The National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has pioneered an environmentally conscious initiative by introducing floral biodegradable rakhis for Raksha Bandhan celebrations. These rakhis, crafted from natural and dried flowers, promote sustainability in festive traditions.

Ajit Kumar Shasany, NBRI Director, underscored the institute's commitment to women's empowerment through this innovative project. 'We were inspired to transform our floral art into eco-friendly rakhis. This initiative also empowers women by providing them with new avenues of creativity and independence,' he told ANI.

Available at the institute campus for Rs 50, these unique rakhis are part of NBRI's broader artistic endeavors. Celebrating Raksha Bandhan, a festival honoring sibling bonds, these rakhis embody a blend of tradition and environmental awareness, cementing NBRI's reputation for pioneering unique patents.
