Karnataka Reaps Benefits: Over Rs 15,000 Crore Disbursed Through PM-KISAN
Since April 2020, Rs 15,127.88 crore has been disbursed in Karnataka under the PM-KISAN scheme. This national initiative, launched on February 24, 2019, aims to financially support farmers by transferring Rs 6,000 annually in three installments. This scheme ensures direct benefit transfers to farmers' bank accounts, bypassing intermediaries.

In an impressive financial commitment to the farming sector, the PM-KISAN scheme has so far transferred Rs 15,127.88 crore to beneficiaries in Karnataka since April 2020, Parliament was briefed on Friday.
Initiated on February 24, 2019, PM-KISAN aims to supplement the financial needs of farmers, ensuring annual transfers of Rs 6,000 in three installments directly to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of eligible farmers.
Minister of State for Agriculture, Ramnath Thakur, emphasized in his Rajya Sabha reply that a robust digital infrastructure ensures timely and intermediary-free transfers to farmers across India. As of August 8, over Rs 3.90 lakh crore has been disbursed nation-wide in 20 installments.
