IED Blast Injures Two Elite CoBRA Commandos in Jharkhand

In a significant development on Friday morning, two elite CoBRA commandos of the Central Reserve Police Force sustained injuries following an improvised explosive device (IED) blast. The incident occurred during an anti-Maoist operation in the Saranda forest area near Jaraikela in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
Sources familiar with the matter reported that the incident unfolded around 11 am amid a joint operation by the 209 CoBRA unit and state police. Immediate rescue efforts were underway, facilitating the evacuation of the injured commandos on foot to the Digha camp, followed by planned airlift arrangements to ensure advanced medical attention.
Authorities have confirmed that both CoBRA personnel, trained in guerrilla and jungle warfare, are currently in stable condition. The 209 CoBRA unit is renowned for its operations in Left Wing Extremism affected regions such as Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, and Maharashtra. (ANI)
