In a significant statement, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahshank Mani lauded the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, emphasizing its transparent execution for the citizens of India. He asserted that the initiative would fortify the Constitution's backbone and propel the nation toward broader development.
Addressing media outlet ANI, Mani expressed gratitude towards the government for its efforts, following the Election Commission of India's (ECI) announcement regarding draft electoral rolls for West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep. Scheduled for a December 16 release, these rolls will feature prominently in the electoral landscape.
Fostering transparency, the ECI has instructed Chief and District Electoral Officers to provide hard copies of draft rolls to political parties. Additionally, by uploading these documents online, they aim to enhance public accessibility and accuracy, ensuring that the exercise comprises comprehensive voter information updates.
