Tripura's Commitment to Tribal Welfare: Prioritizing Development and Education

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reaffirmed the state government's commitment to tribal welfare during a recent program honoring the Darlong community.
He emphasized that 40 percent of the state's budget is allocated to tribal welfare, amounting to Rs 7,149 crore for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26. These funds are earmarked for development projects and enhancing socio-economic conditions in tribal areas.
Saha disclosed that World Bank support of Rs 1,400 crore will help build infrastructure and create livelihood opportunities. Additionally, 15 Eklavya Model Residential Schools, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Welfare, will offer quality education to around 10,000 tribal students.
