ZRO Shillong Honored for Transforming Youth Recruitment in North East

At the Army Investiture Ceremony in Jaipur, the Zonal Recruiting Office (ZRO) Shillong was celebrated for its significant contributions in recruiting and motivating youth from the North East to join the armed forces. Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi awarded the prestigious 'COAS Unit Certificate of Appreciation' to the unit, recognizing their exceptional achievements. The award was accepted by Brigadier Rajeev Kumar alongside Subedar Major Milkha Singh.
Meticulous outreach planning by ZRO Shillong has resulted in a dramatic 64% surge in youth registrations to enlist in the military, with intake doubling compared to last year. These efforts have notably elevated motivation and satisfaction levels among the youth in North Eastern states, showcasing the strategic impact of the zone's recruitment initiatives.
Operating cohesively with its six Area Recruiting Offices (AROs) throughout Shillong, Narangi, Jorhat, Dimapur, Silchar, and Aizawl, the ZRO has adeptly covered the seven North East states. Support from HQ Eastern Command and the civil administration has been instrumental in their progress, underscoring the team's dedication to enlisting the finest candidates for the army, maintaining their slogan "Second to None." The ceremony coincided with the 78th Army Day, attended by key figures including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
