Millions of devout pilgrims convened at Gangasagar to take a holy dip in the Ganges River on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. After the ritual bath, they offered prayers at the revered Kapil Muni Ashram. The fair saw a significant presence of Naga Sadhus, who attracted devotees' attention with their blessings.

This year marked the first-time presence of Mahamandaleshwars from other holy sites such as Tarapith, Kamakhya in Assam, and Deoghar, as well as from the Kinnar Akhara of Delhi. Pilgrims echoed the sentiment that the spiritual benefits of visiting all sacred sites could be matched by a single visit to Gangasagar, encapsulated by the saying, 'Sab tirth baar baar, Gangasagar ek baar.'

State officials, including TMC Minister Sujit Bose, highlighted the comprehensive arrangements for the fair. He reported successful implementation of fire safety measures, with 18 fire stations and 450 personnel ensuring safety. Many visitors, both local and international, praised the state's efforts. A visiting Sadhu, Naga Baba, emphasized the seamless arrangements while reflecting on the historical significance of the fair, where spiritual leaders have gathered across generations.
