Pioneering Renewable Energy: UNSW and KREDL Foster Cross-Border Innovation

The University of New South Wales has signed an MoU with Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd to boost renewable energy collaboration between India and Australia. The agreement aims to establish a startup incubator in Karnataka, leverage cross-border research, and strengthen ties, ultimately positioning Karnataka as a clean energy innovation hub.

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd (KREDL) to enhance cooperation in the field of renewable energy. The MoU, finalized on April 2, was announced at a formal event by Professor Lisa Zamberlan and K P Rudrappaiah in Karnataka.

This partnership aims to establish a renewable energy startup incubator in Karnataka, facilitating exchanges and providing capacity-building initiatives through UNSW Founders. Initiatives will support the development of clean energy projects and enable access to innovation ecosystems between India and Australia.

The collaboration highlights the growing momentum of Australia-India partnerships, with support from the Australian India Business Council and Investment NSW. The endeavor positions Karnataka as a strategic global hub for clean energy innovation, potentially driving investment and sustainability in the region.
