Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Babulal Marandi on Monday endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to citizens to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. Citing global challenges such as conflicts in West Asia, Marandi emphasized that citizens share a responsibility to the nation to adjust consumption patterns.
Marandi urged Indians to heed Modi's advice by cutting back on consumption through measures like using electric vehicles, minimizing travel, and utilizing public transportation. He highlighted India's success in sidestepping global crises, attributing it to adaptive citizen participation and government efforts.
On Sunday, PM Modi urged citizens in Secunderabad to work from home when possible, reduce fuel usage, avoid foreign trips temporarily, and purchase Indian goods. Stressing eco-friendly practices, he called for a reduction in cooking oil consumption, adoption of sustainable farming, and decreased use of chemical fertilizers to protect the economy and environment.
