The Rajasthan government has launched a comprehensive survey to detect illegal constructions and encroachments within 50 kilometers of the Indo-Pak border, following a significant meeting in Bikaner. Convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the meeting involved key security and intelligence agencies tasked with reinforcing regional border security.

As per Jaisalmer District Collector Anupama Jorwal, new committees at district and village levels have been tasked with examining unauthorized structures. Their investigative focus includes financial sources and potential foreign links, and they are expected to present preliminary findings soon. The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Intelligence Bureau will offer crucial support in this endeavor.

In Barmer, similar measures are underway. District Collector Chinmayi Gopal clarified that the survey area, originally covering up to 15 km from the border, has been extended to 50 km. This initiative has been spurred by national security imperatives, with local networks being established for reporting suspicious activities promptly and accurately.
