In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained former MLA Saokot Molla, identified as the main suspect in the Bhangar bomb blast case in West Bengal. Molla, who had evaded arrest, was located in the South 24 Parganas district amid relentless searches by the NIA.
The former MLA is the fourth person apprehended, allegedly serving as the key orchestrator in the explosion that claimed one life and injured others amidst the preparation for West Bengal's assembly elections. NIA investigations indicate Molla instructed others to manufacture the crude bomb and tamper with the blast site.
Meanwhile, Sainur Molla, another accused, had transported victims in his Scorpio vehicle post-blast, moving them between medical facilities before they were handed over to an ambulance driver, now also in custody. NIA continues to probe deeper into the broader conspiracy at play, under directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
