In a move underscoring the state's commitment to hygiene and commuter comfort, Maharashtra's Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik conducted a surprise inspection at Amravati bus station on Sunday. The visit, revealing serious lapses in sanitation, led to the immediate suspension of two employees responsible for the site's upkeep. Sarnaik, expressing discontent with the facility's condition, stated, 'Those who spread garbage and fail to ensure passenger convenience will face strict action.' The inspection is part of a broader government initiative to revamp the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), with surprise visits set to become a regular feature.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated a new HUL Suvidha Toilet Facility in Dahisar, Mumbai, highlighting the essential nature of dignified sanitation facilities for slum residents. Goyal emphasized the importance of transforming slums through redevelopment projects but stressed the immediate need for adequate toilet facilities until these are realized. The project in North Mumbai involves partnerships with organizations like Hindustan Unilever and HSBC, showcasing a collaborative approach to improving local amenities.

Both ministers' actions spotlight the state's dedication to enhancing public infrastructure and services, with a strong message emphasizing hygiene and modernization as cornerstones of Maharashtra’s developmental agenda.
