In a recent health alert, India's apex drug regulatory body has flagged nearly 50 pharmaceutical products, including widely-used medications such as paracetamol and various antibiotics, as failing to meet standard quality parameters.
According to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), 22 of these sub-standard products originate from Himachal Pradesh, with other samples collected from regions across the country, including Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Vadodara.
The CDSCO's alert, issued on June 20, indicates that 52 samples failed quality tests. State drug regulators have reportedly issued notices to the respective pharmaceutical firms to recall the faulty products from the market.
