Tragedy in the Channel: Four Migrants Drown in Boat Capsize
Four migrants lost their lives attempting to reach Britain after their boat overturned in the Channel. Out of 67 people aboard, 63 were rescued in a multinational operation. Dangerous crossings in overloaded boats remain a persistent issue as many seek a better life in Britain.
Four migrants who tried to reach Britain died from Thursday to Friday night after their boat capsized in the Channel, a French coast guard spokesperson confirmed on Friday.
The boat, carrying 67 people, overturned off Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France. A rescue mission involving four ships and one helicopter saved 63 people.
This incident highlights the ongoing peril as thousands risk the dangerous crossing in flimsy, overloaded boats to reach British shores each year.
