Goa Health Boost: Expert Advisory Board Set to Elevate GMCH Standards

The Goa government is set to form a new advisory board of experts to oversee the operations of the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), with the aim of elevating its services to international standards.

Speaking to PTI, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that the board, under his leadership, will include members from AIIMS, WHO India, the Union government, and leading medical professionals. The purpose is to ensure the hospital provides top-tier healthcare, matching global benchmarks.

The GMCH, located in Bambolim near Panaji, is Goa's largest public hospital with over 1,000 beds, serving patients from nearby Maharashtra and Karnataka. The move is part of a broader vision to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's objective of international-standard healthcare across India.
