Delhi's Medical Crisis: Infrastructure Woes at Maulana Azad

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed severe criticism toward previous administrations regarding the inadequate infrastructure at Maulana Azad Medical College. During a recent high-level meeting, significant lapses in security and accommodation were identified, prompting plans for immediate improvements.

The review meeting, chaired by Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena alongside Gupta and Health Minister Pankaj Singh, covered several health institutions. They found alarming conditions, including severe overcrowding, where seven to eight students share a single hostel room, as well as a dangerous environment marked by reports of serious incidents.

Gupta, appalled by the findings, pledged swift action, including repairing existing facilities and construction of new hostels. She emphasized that she'd personally oversee changes to ensure students and doctors are provided a safe and adequate environment.
