In a significant move to enhance the state's health infrastructure, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has introduced an 'incentive policy' for doctors. Additionally, he announced an increase in the monthly stipend for resident doctors, reflecting his government's commitment to improving healthcare services.
Speaking at the annual function of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, Sukhu revealed that Rs 5 crore would be allocated to develop bone marrow transplant infrastructure at five medical colleges. The move aims to strengthen medical services and support for patients.
Sukhu detailed a range of enhancements, including increased stipends for post-graduate and senior resident doctors, and capped working hours to a maximum of 12 hours. Infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,207 crore have been announced to further bolster medical education and facilities in the state.
