Aster DM Healthcare has announced a significant investment of Rs 120 crore to establish five advanced Oncology Radiation LINAC Centres across India. The initiative aims to support underprivileged cancer patients, offering free or subsidised high-quality radiation therapy as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The first centre is set to be launched in Wayanad, Kerala, targeting the Malabar region and neighbouring areas. Aster DM Healthcare plans to base the remaining centres in Bengaluru and other strategic locations over the next three years, focusing on community needs and clinical feasibility.
According to Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, the project seeks to address the gaps in oncology services, enabling patients to access lifesaving treatments close to home. Priority will be for those who have discontinued therapy due to financial constraints. This project operates under Aster Volunteers, the company's flagship global CSR programme that emphasizes community health improvement and socio-economic development.
