Tripura's Medical Education Boost: Centre Sanctions Rs 273 Crore

The Indian government has approved a funding of over Rs 273 crore for the expansion of Agartala Government Medical College. This will enable an increase in MBBS and post-graduate seats, significantly enhancing medical education in Tripura.

The Indian government has sanctioned more than Rs 273 crore for expanding facilities at Agartala Government Medical College, announced Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday.

The allocated funds will be used to increase 100 MBBS seats and 83 postgraduate seats, aiming for implementation by the academic year 2026-27, according to Saha.

Expressing gratitude on X, Saha thanked Prime Minister Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, noting that the expansion will bolster both healthcare services and educational opportunities in the state.
