BJP fields Union ministers to lead Yoga events at 42 places in Delhi
This is for the first time so many Union cabinet ministers have been fielded in various parts of Delhi to lead Yoga celebrations in every nook and corner of the national capital. The move of the BJP is being seen as preparation for upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections scheduled in January 2020.

In an unprecedented move, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded most of its Union ministers and senior leaders to lead the Yoga Day celebrations at 42 locations in Delhi on Friday, June 21.
According to the information provided by Delhi BJP spokesperson, the party's national president J. P. Nadda along with several Union ministers including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani will lead separate Yoga events in the city on Friday to observe the International Day of Yoga.
BJP's working National President J. P. Nadda will lead a Yoga event opposite BJP's national party office, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi have been jointly assigned to lead a Yoga event at Janpath. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot will be in Sangam Vihar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir will lead a Yoga event at Yamuna Sports Complex in East Delhi. Smriti Irani will lead a Yoga event in Mehrauli along with local MP Ramesh Bidhuri.
Similarly, Union Ministers Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goel, Dharmendra Pradhan, Anurag Thakur, Arjun Munda, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Dr Harshvardhan and other ministers have also been assigned responsibilities to lead Yoga events in various parts of Delhi. Delhi BJP president and MP from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari and Syed Shahnawaz Hussain will also lead Yoga events on Friday.
