Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Honors Legacy of Tolerance
Grand Imam Professor Ahmed Al-Tayeb of Al-Azhar visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, honoring the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's legacy of tolerance. The Imam praised the mosque's role in promoting peaceful coexistence and Islamic values.

Abu Dhabi, UAE, July 14 (ANI/WAM): Professor Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and was welcomed by Dr. Yousif Al-Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center. The Grand Imam also visited the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, reciting the Fatiha and praying for mercy and forgiveness, while reflecting on Sheikh Zayed's lasting impact on fostering tolerance, coexistence, and peace globally.
During his visit, the Grand Imam highlighted Sheikh Zayed as an exemplary leader whose vision propelled the UAE towards development and progress while upholding religious and cultural values. He commended Sheikh Zayed for his significant contributions to charitable and humanitarian causes, which helped establish a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
Accompanying the Grand Imam were Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, and Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders. The visit underscored the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque's role in promoting a tolerant Islamic culture and fostering civilizational dialogue among diverse cultures and peoples worldwide.
