President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a historic State Visit to Fiji, New Zealand, and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste from August 5-10, 2024. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and highlights India's Act East Policy, a strategic initiative announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 9th East Asia Summit in 2014, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

President Murmu will visit Fiji on August 5 and 6, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Head of State to the country. She is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, address the Fijian Parliament, and interact with the Indian diaspora.

On the second leg of her tour, President Murmu will visit New Zealand from August 7 to 9. She will hold bilateral talks with Governor General Cindy Kiro and meet Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. Additionally, she will address an education conference and engage with the Indian community. Her visit will conclude in Timor-Leste on August 10, where she will meet President Jose Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister Kay Rala 'Xanana' Gusmao, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Head of State to the nation.
