In a landmark event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk held a delegation-level meeting on Thursday in Warsaw. The meeting aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi was given a grand ceremonial welcome at the Chancellery, in the presence of Polish Prime Minister Tusk. The Ministry of External Affairs lauded the visit as a 'new landmark in the India-Poland partnership', noting it was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years.
During the visit, PM Modi announced a social security agreement between India and Poland, aiming to benefit nationals from both countries. He highlighted the ongoing cooperation in new technology and clean energy, and mentioned Poland's upcoming role in hosting the Kabaddi championship. His visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. After his engagements in Poland, Modi is scheduled to visit Ukraine, marking the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country.
