In a significant move to bolster military collaboration, the Joint Military Exercise Khanjar-XII was officially inaugurated in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan. Scheduled to run from March 10 to 23, 2025, the exercise will see the special forces of India and Kyrgyzstan engage in intensive training operations.
According to the Indian Army's post on X, Khanjar-XII aims to enhance interoperability, focusing on urban warfare scenarios, counter-terrorism tactics, and precision sniping, within the framework of a United Nations mandate. Initiated in 2011, this yearly exercise alternates between the two nations, highlighting their strong bilateral relationship.
The exercise features troops from the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) of India and the Kyrgyz Scorpion Brigade. Alongside military training, it will include cultural exchanges, such as the Kyrgyz festival Nowruz, to further solidify the friendship between India and Kyrgyzstan.
