Japan's tourism sector is witnessing a notable surge, with foreign visitors climbing by 4.4% in July to reach 3.4 million, as per recent government estimates. This increase highlights Japan's growing appeal as a travel destination, significantly influenced by global fascination with its culture, reported Kyodo News.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organisation, July set new visitor records across 15 markets, including the United States, France, and Indonesia. The organisation remains committed to promoting strategic inbound tourism and plans to keenly observe market trends to sustain momentum.

The government's ambitious three-year strategy, concluding in fiscal 2025, aims to escalate travel expenditure per person to 200,000 yen (USD 1,355) and extend the average overnight stay in regional areas to two nights, aiming to surpass fiscal 2019's figures of 159,000 yen and 1.4 nights.
