In an urgent appeal, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called for closer cooperation between New Delhi and Beijing, emphasizing the need for solidarity as the geopolitical landscape becomes increasingly volatile. Speaking at a news conference during the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing, Wang stressed the importance of India and China supporting each other's BRICS presidency over the next two years.

The senior diplomat's comments come amid significant tensions in West Asia, particularly due to the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran. Highlighting the potential impact of unity between the two Asian powerhouses, Wang Yi suggested that their partnership could bring much-needed stability to the Global South. He also condemned the ongoing joint US-Israeli military maneuvers against Iran, labeling the escalation as unnecessary and advocating for a swift return to diplomatic dialogue.

In further remarks, Wang criticized the use of force, cautioning that reliance on military strength lacks morality and could result in a descent into chaos. His comments align with China's position against efforts to undermine the Iranian government, emphasizing that regime change lacks popular support and would only escalate tensions further. This stance surfaces as the Israel Defense Forces announce targeted air strikes on Iranian military infrastructure, a move that Beijing warns could destabilize the region.
