Himachal BJP Slams Sukhu Government Over Alleged Mafia Rule

Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Rajiv Bindal targeted the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government, accusing it of being under the control of mining and drug mafias. He also criticized Congress over unemployment issues and former chief minister Jai Ram Thakur accused Sukhu of victimizing rebel MLAs. By-elections will be held on July 10.

In a scathing attack, Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Rajiv Bindal accused the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government of being controlled by mining and drug mafias. Bindal, campaigning for BJP candidate K L Thakur in the Nalagarh assembly bypoll, highlighted the alleged betrayal of educated unemployed youth by the Congress government, dubbing it a 'government of husband-wife'.

Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur joined the chorus, accusing Sukhu of victimizing independent MLAs and their relatives, which led them to revolt. Criticisms were also directed at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his controversial 'not Hindus' remark, alleging it hurt the sentiments of Hindus. By-elections for the three vacant assembly seats in Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh are set for July 10.
