German Man Arrested at Indo-Nepal Border on Expired Visa

A 44-year-old German national, Tovius Maximilian Rehn, was arrested by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) while trying to cross into Nepal with an expired visa. The incident occurred in Sonauli, Uttar Pradesh. A case has been filed under Section 14 of The Foreigners Act, and the Intelligence Bureau has been informed.

A 44-year-old German national, Tovius Maximilian Rehn, was apprehended at the Indo-Nepal border on Friday, officials reported.

Rehn was attempting to enter Nepal from India with an expired visa when Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) officers detained him in the Sonauli area, according to ASP Atish Kumar Singh. Authorities have registered a case against him under Section 14 of The Foreigners Act. The local intelligence unit, which wishes to remain anonymous, disclosed that the Intelligence Bureau has been notified and Rehn is currently being questioned.

The Sonauli area in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district serves as a significant transit point between India and Nepal.
