FSB Arrests Suspect Linked to Moscow Car Bombing on Ukrainian Orders
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has reportedly arrested Yevgeniy Serebryakov for allegedly conducting a car bombing in Moscow under Ukrainian orders. The suspect was extradited from Turkiye, where he had been detained. The bombing injured two people and targeted a senior military intelligence officer. Ukrainian officials deny any involvement.
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Friday the arrest of Yevgeniy Serebryakov, who stands accused of orchestrating a car bombing on directives from Ukrainian authorities.
The FSB released footage showing a handcuffed Serebryakov disembarking from a plane from Turkiye, under the watch of masked officers.
Turkish officials reported that Serebryakov was detained following Moscow's request, having arrived in Bodrum hours after a car bomb detonated in Moscow. The explosion, which injured two individuals, targeted a vehicle belonging to a senior military intelligence officer, according to Russian media.
The FSB alleges Serebryakov was acting on orders from Ukraine's spy agency and distributed a video of his supposed confessions, though the claims could not be independently verified. Ukrainian officials have refuted any involvement in the incident.
