Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena visited Old Rajinder Nagar on Monday, where he met with students protesting the tragic deaths of three civil services aspirants. The students perished after floodwaters inundated the basement of their coaching institute following heavy rains.

During his visit, Saxena listened to the protesters' grievances and assured them that action would be taken. However, tension escalated as students chanted 'we want justice' and urged Saxena to join them beyond the police barricades. Saxena eventually left without fully addressing the crowd.

Saxena pledged his support, promising that those responsible for the deaths would face consequences. On Sunday, he ordered a report on the incident, highlighting 'criminal neglect' and poor 'basic maintenance' by local agencies. The deceased were identified as Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Navin Dalwin from Kerala.
