Delhi Police Bans Sub-Conventional Aerial Platforms Ahead of Independence Day
Delhi Police has banned the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms like paragliders, hang-gliders, and hot air balloons from August 2 to August 16 in the national capital. This measure, issued by Commissioner Sanjay Arora, aims to prevent threats from criminal or terrorist activities during Independence Day celebrations on August 15.

Delhi Police has implemented a ban on sub-conventional aerial platforms, such as paragliders, hang-gliders, and hot air balloons, from August 2 to August 16 in the national capital, according to officials.
An order to this effect was issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, in preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
The directive cites potential threats from criminal or terrorist elements that could endanger public safety and essential installations using such aerial platforms. Non-compliance will be punishable under section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The order remains effective until August 16, unless withdrawn earlier.
