Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has urged the court to take cognisance of an assault incident in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where members of a Hindu right-wing outfit attacked a group of people and demolished their shanties, labeling them Bangladeshi infiltrators.
In a social media post on Saturday night, Yadav criticized the government's passive stance and questioned by what right the outfit's members took the law into their own hands. He urged the court to take suo motu cognisance of the violence, alleging political motives and targeting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the incident.
