Latur Police Officials Honored with Special Service Medals
Latur Superintendent of Police Somay Munde and four other police officials were awarded special service medals for their contributions in Naxal-affected regions of Maharashtra. This recognition comes ahead of Independence Day and honors officers serving two years or more in challenging areas.

Latur Superintendent of Police Somay Munde, along with four other police officials in the district, have been conferred special service medals for their dedicated service in Naxal-affected regions, according to a release on Tuesday.
In a gesture of appreciation ahead of Independence Day, the state director general of police awards medals to officers and personnel who have served in these challenging regions of Maharashtra for a duration of two years or more. Among those honored are SP Munde, assistant police inspectors Akshay Madhavrao Patil from Udgir Traffic Branch and Gajanan Vyankatrao Totewad from Kingaon police station; and constables Abhimanyu Ashok Gadve and Datta Havappa Madole, both from the police training center in Babhulgaon.
