Rahul Gandhi’s Stand Against Lateral Entry Sparks Debate on Reservation

Rahul Gandhi has pledged to protect the reservation system and constitution against what he calls BJP's attempts to undermine it through lateral entry in bureaucracy. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently withdrew an advertisement for lateral entry into government roles, following controversy and intervention from Union Minister Jitendra Singh.

Rahul Gandhi has vowed to safeguard the reservation system and the Constitution, accusing the BJP of trying to circumvent it through lateral bureaucracy entries. This follows the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) canceling an advertisement for lateral recruitment in government roles, a move prompted by Union Minister Jitendra Singh's request.

In his letter to UPSC Chairman Preeti Sudan, Minister Singh emphasized that the reservation system is essential for ensuring equitable representation of marginalized communities in public employment. Gandhi echoed this sentiment, criticizing the BJP's approach and reiterating his commitment to social justice.

Gandhi shared a video and various posts on social media, accusing the BJP of seeking to exclude underprivileged communities from top positions. He emphasized the importance of maintaining over 50% reservation cap based on caste census to ensure social justice, and pledged that his party would thwart any attempts to erode these rights.
