The Odisha Assembly witnessed ongoing chaos for the fourth consecutive day as opposition parties BJD and Congress called for the resignation of Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan in the wake of liquor-related deaths in Ganjam district.
The tumult erupted as soon as the House convened for Question Hour, with opposition MLAs storming the well, demanding accountability from the BJP-led government over the proliferation of spurious liquor in the state.
Despite the government's announcement of an RDC probe to address the situation, opposition members intensified their agitation, arguing that only the minister's resignation on moral grounds would suffice, thereby causing the Speaker to adjourn the House temporarily.
