The Delhi High Court has declined a plea submitted by Sukesh Chandrashekar, an alleged conman entangled in multiple criminal prosecutions, to prevent his transfer from Mandoli jail to other facilities. Chandrashekar claimed his medical treatments would be disrupted by such a move.
In its verdict, the court highlighted that the accused could access appropriate medical care for both physical and mental health issues in alternative jail facilities. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna emphasized the administrative necessity might warrant such transfers.
Chandrashekar, currently facing charges including money laundering and bribery, had argued that his ongoing treatment required him to stay in the same location. The court assured that any transfer would come with a three-day notice.
