The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) acted swiftly on Monday following an engine room fire aboard the Malta-flagged tanker, MED ATLANTIC, anchored in the East Johor Straits.

All 22 crew members have safely disembarked the stricken vessel with no injuries reported, according to the MPA's official release. In a coordinated response, the MPA deployed a patrol craft, supported by two Police Coast Guard vessels, three marine firefighting and rescue vessels from the Singapore Civil Defence Force, and two tug-boats.
